Food Science and Technology


Food Science and Technology:
Human being is not satisfied with just studying and earning a livelihood today. Now a day people want fast food which is tasty as well as nutritious. Processed food is gaining popularity.  Bakery foods, dairy products, vegetarian items, items made using vegetables, fruits are in demand. This has created a demand for the related skilled human resources.
Keeping this demand in mind Chary N.G.Ranga Agricultural University is offering food technology course. This course of 4 years duration is offered at Bapatla (Guntur district) and Pulivenduala (cuddapah district) colleges which fall under this university. Candidates of MPC and BPC are admitted into this course through web counseling conducted by EAMCET convener. Bapatla College in charge association dean has explained about Food and Science Technology course. 45 seats are available at the Bapatla Food and science technology institute and 30 seats are available at Pulivendula. EAMCET rank holders will be given admission into these colleges through web councelling.
Average intelligence, scientific view and interest in science and technology are the qualifications. Knowledge of Health, awareness of nutritional values is needed.  Changing food culture should be observed to get a hold in this field.
Skills development, food processing, food technology, food microbiology, food nutrition, food bio chemistry etc are taught in B.Tech food and science technology.
Future Opportunities :
There are many opportunities for the candidates who finish this course. Many government and private organizations are giving job opportunities.  Employment opportunities are available at food industries, diary industries, and bakery product companies, beverages, Reliance retails, Heritage foods, Srinivasa foods, Inns and foods.
