Eligibility:
(a) Must have passed higher secondary school certificate examination after 12 years of schooling with science subjects. Knowledge of Sanskrit is essential for the admission in Gujarati medium regular course. b) Any other equivalent course recognised by the Government and State education Board.
Description:
The course aims at providing basic education in Ayurveda leading to the degree of Bachelor of Ayurvedha, Medicine and Surgery It aims at preparing graduates of profound scholarship in the science of Ayurveda having basic and fundamental knowledge in different subjects of Ayurveda backed up by extensive practical training.
Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S) is a medical degree in India, conferred to those who have studied the integrated system of modern medicine and traditional ayurveda. The degree is of five and half years duration, including 1 year internship. The person having a BAMS degree can practice anywhere in India.There is also teaching of modern anatomy, physiology, principles of medicine, social and preventive medicine, pharmacology, toxicology, forensic medicine, botany, ENT, principles of surgery etc., along with ayurvedic topics.
Future Opportunities :
There are post graduate courses available after Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery, such as M.A.Sc.A BAMS doctor can practice allopathy in the state of Maharashtra only in India.
